Pamela Smith has been the proud Dean of Syracuse Academy of Science High School since 2019. Ms. Smith has been an educator for 15 years. She started as a substitute teacher in 2007 before becoming a 6th-grade ELA teacher in 2009.

After that, Ms. Smith was a math and science teacher at the Science Academies of New York for five years. She was also the proud Dean of students at Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School for one year before becoming the Dean of the Elementary School from 2015 to 2019.

Ms. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood Education and a Master of Science in teaching mathematics to grades five through nine. She also obtained a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership with certifications in Childhood Education 1-6, School Building Leadership, and School District Leadership. She was the recipient of the CNY 40 under Forty in 2017 and co-authored “Authentic Voices.”

Ms. Smith has four children. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with family. Ms. Smith loves her dogs. She has a Great Dane named Fenway and a German Shepard named Rex. She is a baseball fan and loves watching the Boston Red Sox play at Fenway Park. She loves the color green.
