Mustafa Ersoy is the proud Dean of Utica Academy of Science Junior Senior High School. Mr. Ersoy began his career as a math teacher at Horizon Science Academy in Cleveland, Ohio. After three years, he moved to Buffalo, where he worked at Buffalo Academy of Science as a 7-12 grade Math Teacher, Assistant Principal, and the last four years as a School Director for over ten years between 2005 and 2015.
Mr. Ersoy earned a Master's in Education from SUNY Buffalo State College, Mathematics Education M.S.Ed., and a Bachelor's in Education from Marmara University. He also has a certificate in Advanced Studies Educational Leadership from Harvard University and a certificate in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Canisius College.
Mr. Ersoy has led three charter renewal experiences and coached over forty staff members. He has trained and implemented Restorative Justice Practices and consistently achieved at or above New York State average exam results during his school administration years.
Mr. Ersoy is married and has two children. He enjoys hiking, camping, and playing table tennis with friends. His favorite quote is, "Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education," by Martin Luther King, Jr. He loves the color green and shares math's favorite number, Pi.
